Scotsman's Upside Down Beer Dispenser
Putting a whole new twist on the traditional “bottoms up” toast, Scotsman Beverage Systems literally turned the beverage world upside down at the Brau Beviale exhibition in Nuremberg this November. The Scotsman Trufill beer dispenser takes a different approach to filling pints, by filling from the bottom up. In doing so, it is able to serve beer at the alarmingly fast rate of ten pints in ten seconds |

Stanford's 'autonomous' helicopters
Stanford computer scientists have developed an artificial intelligence system that enables robotic helicopters to teach themselves to fly difficult stunts by watching other helicopters perform the same maneuvers. The result is an autonomous helicopter than can perform a complete airshow of complex tricks on its own.

Ear Pressure Equalizer
Now that's a headline you won't see often, and yet that's exactly what this gizmo does. You pop it in your ear, and squeeze it to create negative pressure outside your eardrum, thus compensating for the sometimes painful inward-flex caused as the aircraft you're flying in descends from altitude.
As small as a mobile phone and 45g (1.6oz) light. Using the equalizer is child’s play. Developed by Prof. Burkhard Franz, founder of the renowned Tinnitus Research and Balance Clinic, Melbourne. |

Sneakey Teleduplication of Keys from Photos
If you thought your house key was safe from duplication just because you never loaned it out long enough for anyone to make a copy, you may want to invest in a few more deadbolts for the front door - and a pitbull, while you're at it. A team of researchers from the University of California, San Diego, has figured out how to duplicate keys merely by taking pictures of them from afar.
So, what does this mean? It means you should probably be wary of displaying your keys in public. |
